Population Maps

Today in human geo class we talked about population. We took notes and looked at various maps. Some maps would have population dots for a certain topic. When the dots were darker that meant that there were more people in that area that did that specific thing. Some of the maps were making me mad because it said that no one at all in that area did that specific thing (per let's say 5 miles). I thought it was incorrect and Mr. Schick argued that it was correct. People also mainly settle near cities and big capitals. On the population maps there were lots of clusters of dots in those areas because that's where big cities were and where there was a lot of people living. We talked about how no one lived in the desert in Africa and no one lived in the tundra in Greenland. People don't live in places like that because they are inhabitable.
