I believe that Martin Luther didn't like or believe in indulgences just like the rest of us. There is no material thing that you can buy that will make you become a better person in God's eyes. God wants us to follow his rules and do the right thing. We should follow in Jesus' footsteps. The only thing you can do to help God oversee your sins is praying to him and asking for forgiveness.
